I want to start off by thanking you for being in my life.
I know that sounds mega cornball, but I don’t care! The last week has been filled with so much love, I am just about bursting at the seams!
Thank you to those of you who came along to our ROOOAR Magazine Brisbane and Melbourne VIP dinners. They were off-the-charts amazing – I finally had the opportunity to give real-life hugs to a bunch of beautiful clients that I had worked with online for years, and I also got to meet loads of lovely new faces and make some wonderful new friends. I tell you what, you ladies rock.
You all have such ambition, passion and joy radiating into the world, and it is mega-inspiring to witness.
There were many times during the two dinners that I felt teary, and I’m not just talking a-few-too-many-wines faux-emotional.
I’m talking from-the-bottom-of-my-heart-and-soul teary because of the massive outpourings of love and awesomery I experienced.
I cannot even express what it has meant to me. I actually feel like ROOOAR is changing people’s lives and that is just so fricking amazing. It feels like all of the hard work has been worth it, and it’s made me so incredibly excited about where we’re headed in 2015.
A few snippets of what went down…
+ At the Melbourne dinner, I met a lovely photographer who said to me, “Today, I had my first ever unhappy client, and it was so shitty and disheartening. Then I came here tonight, sat at the table, and saw that my place card said ‘YOU ARE FIERCE’ and I knew that my day had just gotten better.” She then went on to tell us how our mag was the only one she advertised in because it’s the only voice she truly believes in…
+ Another generous soul in Melbourne was thoughtful enough to give me a gift with a note that read, “Thanks for doing what you do, for the ones who ROOOAR.” Man, talk about emotional stuff!
+ In Brisbane, we had ladies listing their favourite articles and telling us how the mag has changed the way they think and do business each day.
+ And a massive corporation (to remain nameless for now) actually sent their staff to our dinner because they use our magazine in their HR department to train staff!
All in all, it was crazy, crazy stuff. Having people barge through a crowd to hug you and say thank you is absolutely life changing.
The lesson for me, in all of this, has been to keep faith. There have been more times than I can count over the past year where I’ve doubted what we were doing and whether we could actually pull of this big crazy dream. Where I’ve been stuck at my computer for weeks at a time with no end in sight. When I’ve barely had time to shower, let alone practice the self-care stuff I believe in so strongly.
These past weeks have taught me a boatload about the power of keeping focused on your vision and following through, even during the ‘messy middle’ of a project when you’re mired in uncertainty and shit’s just hard. Staying the course is tough, but it’s so incredibly worth it.
I wish I could give each and every one of you a real-life hug and impress upon you just how important you are to this planet and how much amazing power and potential lies inside you.
All I can say is, put your heart and soul into whatever you do and people will give it back to you, ten fold.
Thank you for being here, thank you for being amazing, and thank you for being YOU.
All love, Anna xxx
